The Hound of Castle Elsinore

When Marius’s father dies unexpectedly, he can no longer dodge the obligation he’s been avoiding his entire life: taking over the family business. It doesn’t help that the business involves running an entire country.
Being King of Elsinore isn’t the fairytale the press makes it out to be. Marius quickly learns that his new job comes with boring meetings, outdated social protocols, scheming politicians… and a family curse. An ominous canine monster stalks him from the shadows, haunting his every move and invading his dreams. And if he can’t get the beast off his tail soon, he risks succumbing to the madness that claimed the previous king’s life.
Desperate to escape his father’s fate, Marius decides his only hope is to appease the hound instead of fighting it. But confronting his family legacy and charting his own course turns out to be an even greater challenge than evicting the castle’s resident nightmare.
Strains of Hamlet and The Hound of the Baskervilles echo through this modern examination of power structures and family expectations. Being stuck with The Hound of Castle Elsinore may be a royal pain, but if Marius wants to survive the demands of the throne, he’ll have to keep his friends close—and his enemy closer.
